Our pollen is raw and not dehydrated using any heat. We use the frost free feature of our freezer to pull out excess moisture. To maintain long term freshness pollen should be stored in the fridge or freezer. Pollen can be mixed with cereal, yogurt, or just eaten in it's pure form. It also should not be cooked or heated to maintain the enzymes and it's nutritional properties. Our pollen is collected daily from pollen traps from our bee hives, cleaned of any hive debris and immediately stored in the freezer.
Pollen contains higher amounts of vitamins B1, B2 and E than found in fruits, berries and green vegetables. Pollen contains almost all nutrients required by humans. A dose of pollen a day will be a good source of energy and nutrients to start your day. Some also take pollen year round and claim it helps with their allergies. Most people start with a granule or two a day and work their way up to a tablespoon.
Bee pollen flavor depends upon the flowers from which it was collected. Flavors may be sweeter, or more bitter. We mix the pollen from different seasons to give a more complete profile to our product. Which is why there are so many different colors in our pollen.
